ITAN – the IDEAL T ransformative Adaptation Network – connects institutions, territories, and people co-constructing coviability strategies in Brazil. ITAN is formed by all the institutions included in the IDEAL IJL, in association with local communities co-constructing our research and governance projects. The ITAN network will promote research and training activities for researchers, students, community leaders, public school teachers, and public managers. Importantly, ITAN ensures that successful experiences in our study cases can rapidly reach other communities and states involved in the IDEAL IJL. Beyond our study cases, the ITAN network includes associated partners such as the INCT Odisseia, which is cooperating with the IDEAL IJL in the development of innovative tools for data integration, visualisation and analyses. These tools are expected to be released as part of a novel joint Observatory — co-developed by IDEAL and Odisseia — providing coviability indicators for the Northeast region of Brazil. The following institutions are currently part of the ITAN network:

Brazil:

Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB)
Ceará Foundation for Metereology and Water Resources (FUNCEME)
Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN)
National Center for Research and Conservation of Wild Birds, Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio/CEMAVE)

INCT Odisseia (University of Brasília)
INCT OndaCBC (Federal University of Pernambuco)
Polytechnic School, University of São Paulo (USP)
